Our design editor is worldwide unique. It gives you the opportunity to make your website design unique the way you want it to be. And you don't have to write a single line of programming code. All settings in your design are made via clear and uniformly structured dialogs and can be seen live on your website. Once you have opened the design editor, a menu bar will appear at the top to display all the necessary dialogs. This gives you a clear view of your website. You see all the content on your page so you can see live how your modifications change the look of your real website.
Your visitors won't notice anything, because everything happens only temporarily in your browser. We save all your changes through a special system like in a "buffer" and only when you click on the button "Save", the content of this "buffer" is transferred to our servers and then delivered, which means that from this moment on all your visitors will see the newly designed website.
On the other hand, aborting the design editor without saving will result in the buffer simply being emptied and then your page getting the original data back from our server and you will see the original design again after aborting, which you created before editing.
Back to editing. In the editor, your website becomes "interactive". Every area of your website that can be edited has received a small sender and receiver from us and sends information to your mouse and gets information from the mouse about what you are doing. If you move the mouse over such an area, the area recognizes this and activates a hatched area that shows you that area can be edited. If you leave the area, this mark is deactivated again. However, if you click on such an active, hatched area, then all areas under your mouse and under this area send a signal with the message "Editing possible". A dialog opens, which collects all these signals and assembles them into an overview. Each area provides the information itself, which is displayed there. It looks something like this:
Layout area -Navigation = edit area design.
This means: The layout area you seem to have clicked sends the message, I am the navigation area, if you want to edit me, you have the possibility to click on the button.
Usually there are several messages. If you click on the navigation area, you click on an area in which several areas are above or below each other. If you have selected a stripe structure, the stripe that protrudes to the left and right above the web page, i.e. outside the navigation area, also appears under the navigation area. The following message appears:
Layout Area - Navigation Exterior = Edit Area Design.
That means: The strip under the navigation sends the message, I am the area outside, if you want to edit me, then you have the possibility to click on the button.
We still have to finish this example, since the navigation area in particular has a special feature. But that probably makes you fully understand our system. The special feature is that there are other elements in the navigation area, namely navigation. She also has a transmitter and a receiver and notices that you are in an area that concerns her. So she also sends a message to the dialog:
Main navigation - and because there is only one main navigation, the dialog does not need any further information. Since navigation has several options for editing, it displays all these options one below the other:
Edit Navigation Design
Now you can jump directly to these three options with one click and use the options stored there. Click on "Edit Navigation Design" to open the dialog above. If you click on "Move navigation" all places on the page are immediately displayed, where you can move the navigation and with one click you can perform this move. If you click on Hide navigation then the navigation is hidden and a sub-navigation, if available, automatically becomes the main navigation and includes the main pages. If there is no subnavigation then there is a note that this option cannot be executed because at least one navigation must be available. This tells you that the navigation does not know anything about other areas, it only sends out what options it provides. The dialog receives these messages and has an overview of the entire page and checks if there are any reasons to prevent an option provided, such as hiding the navigation, and does so, if necessary.
This admittedly very extensive example clearly shows the interactive way the design editor works. We or page4 guides you by the hand and always gives you exactly the tools you need exactly where you are. Therefore the editor is very easy to use and at the same time it allows complex adjustments of all parameters. As already mentioned, a unique system which no other construction set and also no CMS which we know, offers.
