Where can I find the Blog-Modul?

In the left panel there is a separate menu item "Blog" (1). If you click on this entry you will get directly to the blog administration.

The blog itself, i.e. the written posts are only displayed in the logged out state by simply typing "/_Blog" behind the address of its website or clicking on a corresponding entry in the blog navigation.

If you are logged in to edit your page, you can open the navigation of the blog, but it is not possible to open the pages, otherwise you will be logged out automatically.

Basic information about the blog

A blog is in the broadest sense an online diary. You write articles (also called blog or diary posts) that are automatically tagged with a date (which you can change of course) and put these articles online starting from that date. Correctly, one would have to write "the blog" - after all, one also says the diary. In the meantime, however, the Duden has also approved the spelling of "the" blog. We are mainly talking about our blog module to make a difference to our own blog, where we publish news and information.

Our page4 blog module has been developed in such a way that you just have to write articles and everything else is managed by the blog module itself. You just have to decide where on your website you will embed the blog. Our blog module consists of the administration, i.e. the place where you write your articles and the frontend, i.e. the display on your website. The frontend is divided into the blog navigation and the display of the articles on the page itself. If you have written an article and mark it as public, the article becomes public immediately if the date is before the current date or the current date. If you have set the date to a planned date in the future, the article will be stored in the "Planned" folder and automatically published on the date.

The individual articles are displayed in a navigation sorted by date. If you click on the year, the month or the week, all articles published in this period are displayed one below the other (depending on the setting and number, only a part of the articles may be shown and you can reload other articles belonging to the month) with the newest articles always at the top.

A click on the title of an article displays only the respective text on the page and extends the display by existing comments for this article and provides an input mask to write a comment. If one publishes interesting texts, one gets thus by its visitors free current content supplied in the form of more or less extensive comments.

Just like the blog entries, comments are displayed in the blog administration and there is the possibility to have an email sent to you if someone has left an opinion. If desired, the activation of comments can be moderated. The viewing and commenting of articles can be counted and thus offer the possibility to summarize in an extra navigation all entries that have been commented a lot.

Usually a normal blog offers the possibility to create a few "basic pages" to write something about the author and the topic. With page4 this is not necessary, because the blog module is completely integrated and you can create a complete homepage and then simply add a diary to it.
