When you view your website in the browser, the content of most websites and design templates are located in the middle of the browser and have a clear margin to the left and right. The width of your website is between 600 and 1,500 px, while on larger monitors your browser is even wider, so you can see free space to the left and right. This area outside your website is the background you can create with page4. A successful background combined with slightly transparent areas in which the content of your website is displayed creates a modern, positive impression. However, one must always consider that many visitors use a notebook, a laptop and the screen there is much smaller than the large 24-inch and more measuring screen on your desktop. In order for your website to make the perfect impression everywhere, it is very important to think about the background.
Currently the background of your website can be highlighted with a color (2) and/or with one or more background images (3). You can include up to 10 pictures. With the "Delay" you determine how fast the images should be displayed. The crossfading is done with CSS. You determine the order of the pictures by clicking on the pencil and in the dialog, which then opens, grab the preview pictures with the mouse and sort them.
You can choose any color for the background. If you select a transparency value, the color is brightened with white, because the default background of the browser is usually white (#FFFFFF). If you delete the background color, the white background of the browser will appear.
The background color is always under the background image. So if you create a color and include an additional image, you won't see anything of the color, unless the background image is transparent or doesn't cover the background completely. When the page is loaded in the browser for the first time, the background must be loaded from the server into your browser's cache. Depending on the size of the image, this loading may take some time. The display of a background color, on the other hand, is done without any loss of time. So if you have set a color, the visitor will first see that color until the image is displayed later. If you use a background color that also appears in the image or that reflects the mood of the image, your visitor will not find displaying the background color annoying. But if the colour tone has nothing to do with the image or the design of your page, this contrast irritates the eye and is disturbing. Choose the right color carefully. The first impression is important.
In our library you will find several hundred images for your background. All images are available in size 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. This means that the images in original size also fill out large monitors. You can of course upload your own wallpaper at any time. Make sure that the file size is not too large so that the loading times remain acceptable and that the dimensions are sufficient for what you have in mind. If you want your image to cover the entire browser background, no matter how large the monitor is, you should keep to the above dimensions. You also have several ways to scale and adjust the background image.
